Earl D. Babst the son of Jacob and Mathilda Stoll Babst was born
in Crestline Ohio July 6, 1870. After completing the requirements
of the Crestline school system spent two years working in Crestline
at the Babst Banking House prior to completing his college prep
studies at Kenyon Military Academy at Gambier Ohio. From there
he attended Kenyon College and finished his his studies at the
University of Michigan earning both a Ph.B and LL.G degree .
Babst was one of the founders of the Detroit University School
and the University Club of Detroit. Mr. Babst become a member
of the law firm of Green,Peters and Babst,General Counsel to
the Nation Biscuit Company, Eventually moving to New York to
represent that firm
Mr. Babst was president of the University of Michigan Club of
New York in 1912-1913, and is a member of the Executive Committee
of the Alumni Advisory Council of his University, of the Executive
Council of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity, of Phi Beta Kappa, of
American Bar Association, of the University (and Union League)
Club of Chicago, of the Association of the Bar, University, Ardsley,
and other clubs of New York
Mr. Babst Married the daughter of Edwin F. Uhl, the Ambassador..
to Germany and to them were born two Children, Katherine and
